tree with a narrow and open habit when it is younger and as a Red Oak matures the canopy spreads becoming rounded. Red Oak
trees have 4 to 8 inch long leaves that are deeply lobed, 5 to 7 lobes, and have bristles on the tips of some lobes. The top
side of a Red Oak leaf is dark green and paler on the bottom and in the fall Red Oak trees put on a vivid display of brilliant
red to red-orange color. The bark on a Red Oak is dark gray to black with plate like scales, although sometimes it is light
