Description

The Live Oak is found throughout the southeastern USA, Mexico, and Cuba. The Live Oak is majestic and long-lived, with a canopy that can spread up to twice its height. Live Oak trees have large horizontal arching branches that tend to dip to the ground, which give Live Oak trees a very unique look. Live Oak trees have a dense canopy with elliptical or oblong leaves, which are leathery and smooth edged. Live Oak trees have new spring growth that is olive green which matures into small lustrous dark green leaves. Younger Live Oak trees have smooth gray bark, which becomes a charcoal gray with shallow fissures as it matures.
