Cedar Elm

Description The Cedar Elm is the most widespread native elm in Texas. Cedar Elm trees are tough, adaptable shade trees with excellent drought tolerance and can withstand heavy, poorly drained clay soils. Cedar Elm trees are upright growing trees with small leaves that are about 1 inch long and have a sandpaper-like texture. In the spring Cedar Elm leaves are glossy green and in the fall they turn a spectacular golden yellow.
